More serious note

This last week has been a tough one on Dan and his family. Daniel's Grandma passed away.

I feel like Daniel's relatives have done such a great job explaining what a wonderful and unique woman she was. She lost her battle with cancer after extensive treatment this last year. She went through so much and was more than ready to be with her Heavenly Father. I wish I could put in words how much we loved this lady and the example she is to this family. This woman was as old fashioned as you get, but more aware of the world around us than most others!

I didn't know Grandma as well as others, but here is what I do know. Grandma was the backbone of my husbands family. The reason I can sit here and tell you what a wonderful person she is, is because I know her family. Bruce (her son, my father in law) is the most intricate perfectionist I know. He has more heart then he ever lets onto and knows how to lay down the law. He has a strong testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints, but doesn't flaunt it. He would do anything in a second for anyone in his family.

Than there is my husband which was raised by Bruce and spent thousands of hours in Grandma's company. Daniel had plenty to say about most of his family members when we started dating. The only thing he would ever say about Grandma even up until today is how much he admired and loved her. I believe him with all my heart because I know Daniel and he was raised by her family. Dan is not perfect (neither am I) . But my hubby is a unique person. He has such a drive in him. He works hard and plays hard. He is a mommas boy. No matter how well he accomplishes a task, he always says I could have done better. He won't step on toes no matter how tempting. He took the long road, the road which was best for his family and married me in the temple. Grandma taught her family discipline and the benefits to it, and it shows through and through with Dan. Most of all Daniel knows what comes first. He loves and fears God and every once and a while will share his strong testimony of the gospel. Then there is his wife and family. He drops everything for us. Lastly would be his career, he has tried his best to do what he wants in life and his hard work is paying off.

I may not have the wonderful memories of being a kid at grandma's, or any stories to tell about her backyard. But what I do have is the wonderful legacy she has left behind. Anyone can say she was truly an amazing person by looking at who she has left behind. And as my heart aches for Grandpa that must bare the wounds of an empty pillow by his side and for her children who may have not been as ready as her to say goodbye, my heart is warmed in knowing that she left blessings on this earth for all to take advantage of and God has taken her under his wing until Grandpa makes the journey to be with her.

11 Months

We have been playing hard this month and I love it. Here are some recent pics of Hayden and what we have been up to.

We went to the Jazz and Rib feast this weekend, oh I am drueling thinking about it. So good! They had all sorts of stuff to do and plenty of free samples! It was right on the egde of the river. This is a view of our beautiful city from the river. I love this place.
They had a tent with safari animals and kiddo was in awe. He is really starting to comprehend what is going on around him.
The lion even made noises, We got a tough kid. I thought he might get scared but he thought it was pretty awesome.

This is Hayden eating breakfast and saying " I'll get you my pretty!"
The Hamburger feast. A lot more low key, but still enjoyable. I didn't take any pic's besides my kid running away from us on the hill and........
The Hamburger man. He looks more like an ice cream treat to me, but use your imagination
Hayden enjoys the outside like most normal kids and banging on the windows.
When is dad going to be home??
Kiddo bugging Dad to death (he gets it from me) We had to put locks on all the cupboards, Hayden thought he needed to help the whole time. But once he realized what we were up to, he wasn't to happy with us.

Sunday snuggles. If you can get him to slow down for two seconds this boy loves to snuggle and I LOVE IT!
Ever since this kid learned how to walk he has figured out the back door goes out side. He will run from the living room all the way to our bedroom and just pound on the glass until he gets let out.
Why he loves it so much out there I have no idea, all but one toy out there. But as a boy he has to get dirty. This is what his feet look like every time I let him out there. And the other day this is what his face looked like.....
Scared me to death I had no idea what it was until I took a closer look and took a deep breath and realized it was only dirt. Apparently deliciously tasty dirt for Hayden. I totally have a boy!

Passports

So we are planning a little trip to Canada soon which meant Hayden and I needed to get our passport taken care of. Yes, my infant son had to get a picture on his passport. So we quickly took some pictures trying to get kiddo to set still. With all the silly requirements and what not, we came up with a few good ones and this is the one the U.S. of A. put on my sons passport......

Looks like a thug to me! The hilarious thing about this picture is, it will be on his passport for 5 YEARS! Do you think this will pass when he is 5 trying to get threw customs!? I thought it was comical.

Fun summer

These are pretty much for Aunt Jamie, who is always complaining about being so bored at a work. This is Hayden at the popular hangout joint "Bunny fountains." Everyday Hayden is becoming more confident and fearless. It is hilarious to see this kid in water. He can't get enough, does any kid dislike water?
He may not look happy, but it's just because he is breathing in more water than oxygen. But don't even think about stopping him!

Here is somethings my son has been up to

-Dad helped him find the dishwasher
-Dad helped him find the pots and pans
-Kiddo discovered the TV antenna and loves to grab it and smack it against the TV before mom figures out what all the noise in the living room is
-from the previous line, Hayden has began time outs
-He would rather drown than have to get out of the pool
-His vocab consists of Dadda, momma, doydoydoy, aught-oh, oww, and WOW!
-He officially owns more tools than Dad, and I get to hear about it from Dad A LOT!
-Hayden can now smother me more than I can smother him
-He loves to grab onto mom and Dads headboard and "jump" on the bed

I promise Dan and I do have our own lives still, our son does go to bed. But when he is awake he provides the entertainment.

Evening out the odds

Just trying to plan ahead for any and all trips we take to Disneyland or Seaworld and adding one more to the bunch! We will soon be a family of four. We are very excited for #2 that will be making his/her presence in late December. Wish us luck!

Mr. Busy

Hayden has finally decided to let go of your hand and walk. Everyday he is getting more mobile. Now he can walk across the living room and turn around and come back. It's pretty fun watching this kid!

We had an awesome 4th. Lots of food and friends, but of course lazy me didn't take too many pics. I know I have a ton to post on my trip to Utah, one day!

Yes, my husband made me a brace face!
