Birthday week and more...

Dan had his birthday this week and it was such a fun day. I got him a football cake for the season, but couldn't quite fit 26 candles on it. This picture is what we constantly get to deal with, Hayden using us as a jungle gym, he thought he would use his new skills on the birthday boy.

Saturday was the game, we headed out to see Ohio State vs. Illinois. It was a lot of fun for me, its been too long since I went to a game. But it POURED! Our weather proof coats were apparently not swimming proof. The game was kinda boring because we slaughtered the other team (about time) but it was fun to get soaking wet and cheer on our team, and who could forget watching the frat girl pass out on the stairs next to us only to lie down and puke in her friends bag... Good old' OSU fans!
Hayden and I decided to make a fort with our chairs the other day and it was a hit we both had fun climbing in and out.
Nothing new but just another pic of Hayden raiding the pantry. This time unsupervised, I think he ate more cereal than an adult. I guess somebody got a little late night snack in before bed!

Happy 26th

Dan hit the big 2-6 today. I swear we both think we are still so young, but 26 is definitely climbing the ladder! We started dating when we were only 18, my how the years pass quickly. I have got a few surprises up my sleeve for his big day ( I LOVE birthdays!) but nothing to crazy! Love you babe and hope you have an awesome day!

Break Week

Okay, where to begin. Long, fun road trip. We did all the usual Mormon East Coast stuff plus some added adventures. It was a blast to have Bruce and Cindy with us. Hayden took no time at all warming up to them. We started by hitting up Gettysburg. Hayden was VERY interested in guns, can you tell by the smile on his face?

We found a Boyd's Bear County outlet store. I have NEVER seen Cindy so happy. We spent hours there. It was pretty fun. We got Hayden this HUGE lion that he surprising loves to jump all over and the ladies working there thought Hayden was so cute they gave him not one but TWO little bears for free! Who could forget Hershey, PA. Yes it really does smell like Chocolate. "It's the Milk Chocolate!" They had a cute little tour and TONS of yummy chocolate to purchase. A quick stop for Office viewers! We went to Scranton, Pam and Jim where unfortunately detained :(

We also went to Palymra, but had some other pretty cool stops on the way. This first wooded picture is the place where the Aaronic priesthood was restored to the Earth by John the baptists. The Church has a little plaque and you can walk down by the river. It was so pretty and looks like all the pictures they paint. The middle pic is of Niagara. It was awesome. We stayed on the Canada side (where they try and rip you off at every turn). But we stayed in a little hotel and when we were walking out we learned that we stayed in the same room Marilyn Monroe stayed in when she was filming the movie "Niagara" (nope never even heard of it). Now, this last picture is pretty cool. Dan's Family has a lot of history in the beginning of the church. So we went and found the road that his ancestors lived on outside of Kirtland, and the site where he was baptized in Lake Erie. I love that his family is so good at documenting things so we can go back and get a glimpse of their history. They kept such good records that we even know where his families land in Navuoo was located and his burial site in Independence. We had a lot of fun and already miss Grandma and Grandpa!
