I funny mom

Just wanted to remember some of the cute things Hayden has said in the last couple days.

Yesterday Hayden was super grouchy in the morning and I just could not handle it. So I told him to go upstairs and take a nap in his bed (at 9:30 in the morning.) So he goes up to his bed and I leave him there for an hour. I could hear him talking with his stuff animals every so often. So I walk in his room and ask "Did you get in a good nap?" he replies "Yeah mom, I take a nap, I so funny." Guess he thought he had me tricked that he was sleeping.

Today as Hadley was going through my night stand drawer she found my bottle of loose coins, she was playing with it pretty intently. I asked her, "That is a lot of money Hadley, what are you going to buy with all that money?" Without skipping a beat Hayden chimes in "ice cream and cheese!"

Today after he did his business on his little potty he stood up and said, "Mom, I poop a hot dog!"

Wicked Easter

That is right my friends, I went to the musical "Wicked" this weekend. It was very entertaining. I talked Emily into going with me even though she had seen it before. So glad she came with me. It was a blast and my hubby got us awesome seats off stub hub.

The place was totally packed and Emily had some of the most interesting people sitting right next to her. One lady behind her broke down crying during one of the songs.

Poor prego Emily, I made her walk a million miles until I could find a wicked sign. Can you believe she is 24 weeks?? This is definitely a fun play and you need to go see it if you get a chance.

Also this weekend we got to see the Easter Bunny.

Hadley is not a afraid of anyone, but lets just say she didn't jump into the bunny's arms.

This place was awesome they had a egg hunt for 3 and under, check out all those eggs! Plenty for everyone.

This was both kiddos first ever egg hunt. So I had to prep them both.

Needless to say they needed close to no coaching. They both did great.

Had's started by kicking the eggs(she is really into soccer) but after a min she started putting them in her basket.

showing off the goods. It was great. Even though It was kinda annoying with the couple of parents that were frantically picking up the eggs and shoving them into their kids bags. Especially when there was hardly any kids and plenty of eggs, and no pushing and shoving, people are just greedy. Hayden got them all himself and had an entire grocery bag full of eggs!

The face painting. Hayden was pretty upset when the guy wouldn't do a race car. But once he saw his puppy face he got over it.

Hadley's kitty (she would not hold still)

Back at the car. It was raining on and off all day. But I pretty fun day.

Potty training update:
Hayden has gone 2 days with no pee accidents! Can hardly believe it! #2 is little more of a struggle. I think this kiddo has pretty good control of his bladder because he has never had an accident when we are out and about, but I would like to add that this is not the first time I have tried potty training with Hayden. I tried a few months ago and it was a disaster. We went through about ten pairs of underwear before noon. I gave up. But I tried again because he would tell me every time we would pee in his diaper. I hope things keep going this well.
One quick story from church on Sunday. Hayden has never used the big potty just one of those little ones you can take from room to room. So Daniel was taking Hayden to the potty at church for the first time on a real toilet. Hayden sat down and said "Dad, I going pee on potty! Dad, I makin a mess..." Dan looks down and he hadn't positioned him quite right and he was peeing on the floor!

Recipe blog

So my sisters and I are always talking food. So we made a blog that we all contribute to (well most of us LORI(I know you cook, you lazy bum!)) Anyhoo, check it out. I got the Best Bites recipe book and totally love it. I kinda have found that cooking has gotten me out of my recent slump. It's a love hate relationship. Last week I ran 28 miles yet I gained 1 1/2 pounds!! But food has made me happy, the scale and I have not been getting along since Christmas.

We have been up everything lately, but I never want to stop and take pictures and what is a blog post without pics?

The other weekend we went with some friends to an Ortho meeting in naples(about 1hr 45 min away) It was a treat. Me and Emily just kicked it at the hotel in the mornings and let the kiddos sleep and than the guys would get home around noon and we would head to the white sandy beaches. Sam was so fun with Hayden and built him a sand castle with a mote and big hole. Emily has got a little girl Hadley's age and a boy on the way and Sam is going to be great with a boy! These are pretty much the only photos I took, Emily will have to send me some of her amazing shots.

The second day we went to Marco Island. The water was awesome, the temp perfect and sand white. We even found some fun sea shells that had crabs in them and kiddos thought that was awesome. I had so much fun as a family and with our friends. Dan has a cousin that is on a mission in Naples so after the beach we headed to go visit him. But if any of you know the DR fam, we struggle at hurrying. So by the time we got to his place it was just in time for priesthood, so we missed him but left him a note with a few of the goodies Dan had received at his conference.

The hayds after church. Can you tell how tired those eyes are? Me with one of the very few days a week I apply make up. I swore I would never be one of those people that never get ready. I am just not embarrassed any more. I head outside without a bra, hair a mile high from my restless night sleep and I wave down the neighbors with a big smile, I know they think I am a loon. Today I actually did a double take in the mirror because I had washed the left over mascara off earlier. I had to look twice to make sure it was me, not used to such cleanliness.
After making our fort the other day Hayden randomly asked me to take his picture! I was totally surprised and whooped out the camera before he could change his mind. This kid says the most hilarious stuff lately. This was yesterday
Mom- Hayden you are getting to be such a big boy
Hayden- No, mom you big
Mom-(mouth wide open) Hayden you never tell a girl she is big. You tell her how little and cute she is..
Hayden- Mom you big, Hayden little.
Mom- don't tell girls they are big
Hayden- I little boy, mom big

On to the big story at house. Potty training. Can you tell what happened here. I was so excited about going so long with no accidents and as soon as I get the camera out it happened! It actually hasn't been as bad as everyone has said. Granted it's only been 4 days. But I know why everyone says it's so hard. 4 days... not so bad....40 days draining! We are just getting started thankfully I have tile for clean up. But it gets so old asking ten million times a day if he needs to go potty. We have gotten out of the house quite often and he has done awesome so far. But my next report card might not be so optimistic. Every time he pees in his potty he screams "CANDEEE!" pretty cute.

Can you see more of Had's mullet! She is getting some pretty good curls in the back but not much on top.

Went to help out poor Dad's car that got bum-bared by birds. We honestly would totally fit in at a trailer park. Hadley's diaper so full it's about ready to fall off. Hayden in his underwear and batman Pj's cape and all. Mom with my side pony tail from the day before, hair all over pj's on, make up smeared all over my eyes.

Hadley will copy anything you do (Hayden copies anything Hadley does) She had a blast getting bubbles all over and helping.

This is Hayden and moms chair. But in the absents of mom, he helped his little sister up to watch some "PV" His favorite show is "chipmunk show" (Alvin and the chipmunks) He laughs so hard, who knew those furry creatures could bring such joy!

My new love

Yes, this shoe. Thank you for a friend that recommended me this shoe. Last year while training for a 1/2 marathon I jacked my knee hard core weeks before the race. Every doctor I went to or friend I talked all said it was because I didn't cross train. I had to be off my knee for months. (after I killed my knee at the race) When I started training again this year, it took only a few weeks before the pain started to emerge again. Than my friend told me me about these shoes that take the pressure off your heals and help you run more of a flat foot. I have been using them for a month now. Wow, they use some different muscles so my legs got pretty sore. But the knee is just fine. I have even done a couple long runs with much success, and yesterday was the ultimate test. 10 miles and no knee pain (yes there was other sore spots on my legs! but not the knees!) P.S. I have done little to no cross training I am way to lazy which makes me even more of a believer. Check out the Saucony Grid Type A4. It could change everything!
