My sister from Indiana came to visit again this weekend, and it is always a blast when she arrives. I threw her a belated birthday party since I didn't get to see her on her big day. I made my first layered cake and finished my first rag quilt(that she received as a gift) all by myself!
The birthday girl
The rag blanket I made, thanks Keen for the tips! I have to say I think I am totally going to get into this blanket and sewing thing. SO much fun.
So we headed off to "Schakolad" for a tour of their chocolate factory. Needless to say it was more of a shop than a factory, but it was awesome! They let us make our own chocolates! Jen went first and picked a tiny soccer ball sucker out of an entire wall of molds. Than I chose a bigger and funner to make choo choo train for Hayden. Than Lorisss picks this gigantic alligator that was probably a pound of chocolate. Anyway it was awesome, we all got our hands dirty and dug into the chocolate.
Dan was kind enough to kick it with Haydes and just watch all the fun! But there is a few of the gazillion molds to pick from behind us.
They also showed us how to write with chocolate and let us have at it. I don't think the things I wrote are appropriate for this blog :)
Jen's tiny sucker
Lorisss giant alligator that had to be placed in a thron(sp) of gold to carry home!
Awesome fun, lots of girl talk and painting nails (thanks Dan for letting us do our thing:))

Random
This is for Jam, she said she is getting sick and tired of my old post. So I thought I would do a new one just for her (not that you blog anymore than me! )
Alot has been going on at our house, Hayden is such entertainment. I have been watching Dakota while Alica goes to work. Oh boy, Hayden loves having someone so hang out with.
Just some random faces this boy pulls
yes, I am very curious
Hades and Dakota. Hayden tries holding hands and Dakota is just not sure what to think. But he will let Hades obsession with his feet slide. He tickles Dakota whenever he gets close to his toes.
I think we are coming across the teething stage. So I use bibs to help with the druel

SnOw DaY
Yep, we actually had a snow day today. Dan got the day off of school and spent half of it working on the getting an inch of ice of the entire car! It was fun, watching the snow fall so hard. Of course it is nothing compared to Utah snow, but they sure were making a big deal about it on the news! "Snow storm of '09." So we took Hayden out just for a second. It was pretty cold but here is the little man!
Mom getting him all bundled up.
Dad, letting him have his first experience with snow.
after the adventure, big smiles!
Hades showing off his "snow boots" AKA cowboy boots that are WAY to big for him, but the ARE boots!

5 Months
Today Hayden is 5 months, and boy is he growing! The poor little guy has had a cold all week and is just miserable. I wish so bad I could make my little boy happy. He sure makes me a happy mom. Here is a list of things Hayden has been up to these last few weeks...
- He has found that he loves anything that mom and dad have. Especially the remote!
- He will smile at just about anything, even if he is in the middle of a tantrum
- He can sit up by himself
- He has no interest in rolling over, no matter how much coaching he gets
- Books are the coolest new thing
- He attacks cereal, like mom attacks a bowl of ice cream
- His head is getting some peach fuzz
- He thinks Dad is SSOOOO much cooler than mom.
- He loves to eat his hands so much that he wants other to eat them too!
- peek-a-boo is the most hilarious thing ever

She is doing an incentive drawing for 50% off, you just have to go to her blog @ http://blissfulmemoriesbyali.blogspot.com/ and follow her instructions on how to enter. You can also check out some of her cute photography, she does great work! Keep in mind this is back in Utah.

Anyone else into this show? I am SO addicted! Last night got me good. I was dropping tears left and right about the Dave and Jerry. Do you think they made the right decision to send Jerry home? Or did you want Dave to go home? I am just glad I wasn't responsible to send anyone home. But seeing Jerry's transformation made me feel good enough that I could go to sleep last night! Let me know what you thought.

Hayden's Blessing
When we went home we blessed our baby boy. We gave him a name and a blessing in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. It was performed at my in-laws and everyone in my immediate family attended. Daniel gave the blessing. It was an awesome experience. I want to let you know how grateful I am to be a part of this Church and raise my family with the knowledge that I have of it. I truly believe God is the way to happiness. I will try and raise my children to find that happiness.
Threw all the busyness going on, I didn't get a family photo, HELLO HOLLY! But we got plenty of Hayden in his outfit that Liz helped me make. He looked super cute. Such a special day!
